The Annual Gairloch Gathering

The Annual Gairloch Gathering

The 2015 Gairloch Highland Gathering is just around the corner so for those staying at Ceomara it’s a must.  For those unlucky not to have secured a reservation with us over the gathering weekend, get booking early for 2016.

Featuring this year we will have the usual events such as: piping, highland dancing, the 6km hill running race, animal events big and small, local produce and craft stalls, Classic cars, 4 km mountain bike race, children’s orienteering, 5-a-side football competion  etc.  Not to mention the tea and beer tents, bouncy castle and balloon modeling.  So, something for all the family to enjoy.

In addition this year there will be a visit from The Clan cycle stunt team providing amazing tricks requiring incredible technical skills and balance.  This is the team that Scotland’s now world famous stunt cyclist, Danny McAskilll from Skye, was a founding member.  If you haven’t seen the sort of stuff they do check Danny out at http://www.dannymacaskill.co.uk/

Music in the marquee this year will be provided by Skippinnish supported by Coast Road Truckers, this is a must see event and goes on till late.  There is also a family ceilidh in the marquee from 7pm on Friday 3rd July, featuring the Braemore Burach Band.

Your hosts are Sue and Tom Watson. We moved up to the Highlands after bringing up our children near Edinburgh. As well as running our cottages we have a yacht charter business offering Skippered Charters and Tom also teaches sailing on our Badachro based RM 1260 yacht, ‘La Girafe'. We love living on the West Coast and make the most of all the area has to offer from the mountains to the sea. We also enjoy introducing others to this beautiful area in which we live. We live next to the cottages and are available as little or as often as guests require.
