Our Cottages

Located in Badachro, arguably one of the most picturesque villages in Wester Ross, these two stylish, cosy cottages have an enviable position on Badachro Bay with views that are truly outstanding.

The cottages were originally the 'steading' building of the croft farm house that once occupied this site. Each cottage offers holiday accommodation on 2 levels, in one double and one small twin bedroom. They are ideal for a couple, but can accommodate up to 4 adults*. We also welcome one small dog in Ceomara Highland Cottage no:2 (by prior arrangement).

The cottages are semi-detached with separate entrances. They are easily accessed along a quiet, secluded road and have excellent level parking.

To the front of the cottages is a shared fenced south facing garden, from which the far reaching views can be enjoyed across the bay and also to the left as far as the mountains along side Loch Maree. The patio area has a large picnic table for each cottage.

Many visitors have commented that Ceomara Highland Cottages are the best equipped self-catering accommodation they have stayed in, with lots of extra thoughtful touches to to make your stay special, relaxing and memorable.

Kitchen/Dining/Living area

  • Light and airy open plan kitchen/dining/living area
  • The kitchen has a very good range of cooking equipment and also an electric cooker, microwave, washer, fridge (with small freezer compartment), hand blender, toaster, kettle and cafetiere. **New for 2008** the washing machine has now been replaced in each cottage with a new washer/dryer.
  • The lounge is furnished in a contemporary style and has a large and deep recessed window seat with wonderful views. There is a flat screen TV with a DVD player and a CD player with tuner. A selection of books, games, maps, local guides and information are provided.

Hallway and stairs

  • There is storage space for shoes and an under-stairs cupboard as well as coat hanging space in the welcoming hallway.
  • The hall cupboard contains an ironing board, torch, first aid kit, vacuum and other cleaning equipment. An iron is also provided.

Bedrooms

  • **New for 2008** The double rooms now have beautiful John Lewis solid oak double bedsteads and a new pocket sprung mattress to ensure a blissful nights sleep.
  • The twin bedrooms have new pine small single beds and mattresses.
  • Both double and twin bedded rooms have a velux window with the same fantastic views across the bay.
  • You will relax in luxury bed linen with super-soft microfibre duvets and hypoallergenic pillows.
  • There is plenty of clothes storage space in the bedrooms and the upstairs hallway. A hairdryer is provided.

Shower Room

  • There is an electric shower, basin, WC and shaver point.

The cottages are double glazed and have electric storage heaters which ensure a really cosy, warm environment all year round. An addition electric, simulated solid fuel burning heater is in the lounge. A small welcome pack is provided, containing a selection of basic provisions.

Eco-Friendly

We encourage guests to recycle whilst staying at the cottages. Containers are provided for the recycling of glass, tin, paper and cardboard. Composting caddys are also supplied for collection of compostable kitchen and household waste during your stay. The resulting compost produced is used on the owners garden and raised vegetable beds.

The cottages are supplied with electricity produced from environmentally friendly hydroelectric stations and we use energy saving bulbs, where possible. Care is taken when choosing replacement electrical appliences to ensure they are 'A' rated for energy efficiency. We also supply environmentally friendly cleaning products for use in the cottages.

* We regret that due to several bad experiences with damage to the interiors by children, Ceomara Highland Cottages now only provide accommodation for adult guests.
