Our enchanting self-catering holiday cottages
Located in Badachro, arguably one of the most picturesque villages in Wester Ross, these two stylish, cosy self-catering holiday cottages have an enviable position on Badachro Bay with views that are truly outstanding.
The cottages have been converted from an original 'steading' building and each cottage offers holiday accommodation on 2 levels, with one double and one small twin bedroom. They are ideal for a couple, but can accommodate up to 4 adults*.
The cottages are semi-detached with separate entrances. They are easily accessed along a quiet, secluded road and have excellent level parking. *New for 2010* the shower room in each cottage has undergone a luxurious refurbishment.
Garden
To the front of the cottages is a shared, fenced south facing garden, from which the far reaching views can be enjoyed across the bay and also to the left as far as the mountains along side Loch Maree. The patio area has a large picnic table for each cottage.
There is a new 'simple seat' at the end of the garden, to let you get closer to the spectacular view across the bay. Outdoor rotary clothes driers are available for use in fine weather, as well as access to indoor drying facilities for when it is wet.
Outdoor bike storage racks for up to 4 bikes are provided and additional indoor storage may be available on request.

Stunning new Shower Rooms for 2010
For the end of 2009 and the 2010 season the shower rooms of both cottages have undergone a complete refurbishment. We are delighted with the beautiful results and hope you will be too, both for their lovely appearance and for the enhanced features they provide. Hopefully they will greatly improve the comfort of your stay at the cottages.
- Reduced water consumption and energy efficiency featured highly in our choices for the new shower rooms.
The new room is very cosily warmed with a a gleaming chrome, thermostatically controlled heated towel radiator.

- There is a contemporary LED illuminated mirror, which is also heated to ensure a perfect image at all times.
- The sink and tap are contemporary, as is the eco-low flush volume toilet.
- A brushed chrome dual voltage shaver point is next to the mirror.
- An efficient extractor system, ensures a pleasant showering room, clearing any steam from showering effectively.
The cottages are heated by electric storage heaters in the lounge, hallway and bedrooms. These supply a cosy source of heating. An addition electric, simulated solid fuel burning heater is in the lounge. The tariff includes all costs for heating and lighting.
The cottages are south facing and in the summer are lovely and cosy as they are bathed in sun all day. In the winter, they retain their warmth well thanks to the very thick walls of this converted 'steading' building.
Culinary herbs
First introduced in 2009 and again to be available for the 2010 season, visitors to the cottages will have their own outdoor culinary herbs to use during their holiday.
These will have mostly be grown, organically from seed by Sue. The compost used for planting is a mix, containing some of Sue's home made compost. This has been made over the last 2-3 years from, amoungst other things, kitchen waste provided by previous holiday makers. If you have stayed at the cottages before, you can taste some of the results of your composting efforts. Recycling at its' very best!
Curly and flat leaved parsley, rosemary, thyme, margoram, chives, sage, chervil and some edible flowers are amoungst the herbs you will find, subject to season. Visitors to the cottages should find the herbs ready from about mid - June.
Eco-Friendly
We encourage guests to recycle whilst staying at the cottages. Containers are provided for the recycling of glass, tin, paper and cardboard. Composting caddys are also supplied for collection of compostable kitchen and household waste during your stay. The resulting compost produced is used on the owners garden and raised vegetable beds.
The cottages are supplied with electricity produced from environmentally friendly hydroelectric stations and we use energy saving bulbs, where possible. Care is taken when choosing replacement electrical appliances to ensure they are 'A' rated for energy efficiency. Environmental issues are always a priority during our refurbishments and upgrading of the cottages. We also supply (and use) environmentally friendly cleaning products in the cottages.
Whether you are seeking a base for the many outdoor activities in the area, or simply a tranquil place to relax and unwind, you will find Ceomara Highland Cottages a charming environment, ensuring your stay is a memorable one.
